City Land Purchase Hits Second Roadblock
Ongoing efforts by the City of Ardmore, TN to purchase a second tract of land along Main Street, adjacent to the tract of land purchased by the city in January, hit a second snag last week when the owner of the property rejected the city’s offer of $86,300 for the land in question.

Ardmore Tiger Band Practice Facility Completed
Ardmore High School’s Tiger Band will no longer have to worry about trying to practice on a muddy, rain-soaked field, thanks in large part to the Band Boosters, Limestone County Commissioner Tommy Raby and Limestone County School Board member James Shannon.

Russell To Run For Mayor
Lenden Russell, a Giles County native, has announced that he will run for the office of Mayor of Elkton, TN. The Elkton election will be held in August 2006.

Attorney General Troy King To Speak At Police Memorial Day Celebration
Alabama Attorney General Troy King will be making a special appearance in Ardmore, speaking at the annual Police Memorial Day Celebration, to be held on May 17.



Ardmore Lady Tigers Win First Ever Limestone County Golf Championship
Ardmore High School’s Girls’ Golf Team notched its place in history two weeks ago by winning the first-ever Limestone County Girls’ Golf Championship. It was a banner day for the Lady Tigers.
Lady Tiger Varsity Softball Team Wins 4A Area 15 Championship
The Varsity Lady Tigers Softball Team traveled to East Lawrence last week to play in the 4A Area 15 Tournament. Ardmore, East Limestone, East Lawrence and Lawrence County are the teams that make up Area 15. The Lady Tigers proved that defense really does win championships, as they made it through five games with only two errors. Ardmore also proved to be very successful with the bats, as they racked up 31 hits in the tournament. The Lady Tigers played very well throughout the tournament, especially on Saturday when they played four back-to-back games and never gave up.

To Celebrate 105
The staff of SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation for Ardmore is making plans for a special celebration Saturday, May 13. The celebration will honor SunBridge’s oldest resident, Rosa Nell Driver, who will be 105 on Friday, May 12. Mrs. Driver will be the guest of honor at a party beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday.
