Attorney General Troy King
To Speak At Police Memorial
Day Celebration

Alabama Attorney General Troy King will be making a special appearance in Ardmore, speaking at the annual Police Memorial Day Celebration, to be held on May 17.

King is no stranger to public service and is now serving in his third term as Alabama’s Attorney General. King also held top level positions in the administrations of former Governor Fob James and Governor Bob Riley.

King’s approach to the Attorney General’s office can best be described as energetic, hands-on and proactive. He has developed a reputation as a champion of law enforcement, an advocate for victims of crime and a defender of Alabama’s families, particularly children and the elderly.

Immediately after taking office, King created the “Family Protection Unit” to serve as a clearinghouse for crime and prevention issues, focusing on child abuse and exploitation, elder abuse, consumer protection and welfare fraud.

King’s commitment to protecting Alabamians from those preying on the vulnerable was demonstrated just before Hurricanes Ivan, Dennis and Katrina slammed into the coast. King went to the impacted areas and warned would-be price gougers and profiteers that he would prosecute them if they attempted to take advantage of the situation. Most recently, King has taken effective measures to overhaul the state’s identity theft laws, strengthen laws to punish and track sex offenders and push legislation to protect the environment.

King will speak at the Police Memorial Day Celebration, to be held at the Ardmore Police Department on May 17 at 1 PM.
