“The girls worked hard this year and were determined to get better,” said Head Coach John South. “This was my first year to coach the girls and I was very impressed by their dedication and their work ethic. Ashlee (Beck) grew up around the golf course and Caitlin (McDonald) has already played for us for a couple of years. We have a lot of good balance on the team and I think the future of our team is positive.”
The Lady Tigers’ success in the Limestone County Tournament was the crowning achievement in what was already a highly successful year. The team was a perfect 10-0 in regular-season match play and went 15-7 overall. All seven of Ardmore’s losses came against Class 5A and 6A schools.
The Ardmore Lady Tiger Golf team went on to compete in the Alabama Sectional Tournament and finished fourth overall. The three teams that finished ahead of the Lady Tigers were 6A and 5A schools.
Members of the Ardmore High School Girls’ Golf team include: Ashlee Beck, Caitlin McDonald, Whitney McCallister, Haley Helums and Megan Pressnell.
