Annual Black And Gold
Game Slated For Friday

Fans of Ardmore Tiger Football are in for a special treat this Friday, May 18 as the team will hold its annual Black and Gold Football Game. Those interested should take note that this year’s game will take place at 1:30 PM, rather than the traditional 7 PM kickoff time.

The format of this year’s scrimmage has yet to be announced. According to Head Coach Tracy Malone, everything depends on the number of players available.

Friday’s contest will be the concluding event of the two-week spring practice that began on May 5. Malone and his assistant coaches have been busy putting the Tigers through their paces over the past two weeks and state that the players are highly motivated and working hard.

“Spring practice helps us not only get ready to play,” said Malone in a recent interview. “It also helps us see who is physically ready to play and gives us an overall view of our strengths and weaknesses going into a new season.”

According to Malone, finding players to fill slots along the offensive line and defensive backfield are high priorities for spring drills. The Tigers lost a number of key players to graduation, but there is a bumper crop of younger players who are hungry and more than willing to fill the void.
