ABS Lady Trojans Fall

When the dust cleared Saturday and state play-off action concluded, the Athens Bible School softball team was the only team from this area left in the tournaments.
The Lady Trojans advanced to Thursday’s AHSAA Class 1A Softball Tournament after defeating Spring Garden 2-0 and 3-1. In the first round of the playoffs ABS defeated Covenant Christian.
The ABS Trojans just missed the chance to play for the Class 1A championship. The Trojans fell to Hackleburg 10-6 and 6-1 last weekend.
Elkmont, West Limestone, East Limestone and Ardmore all fell in their second round of the softball playoffs this past weekend.
It took three games for Madison Academy to beat Elkmont on Saturday. The Lady Mustangs won the opener 2-1. The Lady Red Devils won the second contest 8-0, before falling 6-5 in the finale. Pisgah defeated West Limestone 1-0 and 11-1 on Friday. Lawrence County stopped East Limestone 7-4 and 2-1 on Saturday. Ardmore and Florence Central divided a pair of games Saturday before Central won the finale 2-1. Ardmore opened the series with a 3-1 win. The Lady Wildcats took the second game 6-4 in eight innings before winning the finale.
