Ardmore finished their season with a winning record of 35-20-2. Coach Mike Jackson and Coach Tony Slayton are very proud of the Lady Tigers’ success this season, and wished the outcome could have been different. Ardmore is losing three players to graduation this year: Sara Jo Taylor and Melissa Sharp, both five-year players, and Cassandra Atteberry, a two-year player. Both coaches commented, “These seniors will truly be missed. Their athletic ability, speed, and most of all their leadership, have been great assets to the success of this team.” The coaches also stated, “We are so proud of all of the girls this year. They have been a blessing to coach over the years and we wish them all of the luck in the future. They all have the ability to go far in life if they only believe.”

Madison County 1
Madison County scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning, when Emily Gibb hit a single and later scored on a wild pitch, taking a 1-0 lead.
Ardmore rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning, picking up three hits and taking a 3-1 lead. Sara Jo Taylor led off for Ardmore with a single to center field and later scored when Shannon Fogg reached base on a fielder’s choice. Fogg then scored when Jada Norton hit a line drive to deep center field. Norton was brought home when Casey Steadman hit a single to left field.
The Lady Tigers were able to hold onto a 3-1 lead for the remainder of the game, claiming the first victory. Other hitters for Ardmore were Amy Collier and Jada Norton with a single each. Casey Steadman took the pitching win for Ardmore, striking out twelve batters, walking one, and permitting four hits. Amber Wise was the catcher.

The Lady Tigers fell 2-0 to Madison County in the second game. Ardmore made good contact with the ball, but were unable to reach base and score, as only four batters got on.
Madison County out hit the Lady Tigers 6-3, leading to two earned runs. Emily Gibb scored the first run for in the bottom of the third inning for Madison County when she reached base on a single and later scored on a single hit by Brittany Harris. Madison County picked up the second run in the bottom of the fifth when Denise Crawford reached base on a single and later scored on a single hit by Emily Gibb.
Leading Ardmore in hits was Jada Norton with a double, Melissa Sharp and Casey Steadman with a single each. Aarika Boggs took the pitching loss for Ardmore, striking out one batter, walking two, and permitting six hits. Amber Wise was the catcher.

Madison County 2
The Lady Tigers began playing the third game, but the game soon ended due to tornado warnings and rain, and was put off until Thursday. The game was called in the middle of the top of the first inning, with Ardmore at bat. Melissa Sharp led off with a triple for Ardmore. Shannon Fogg followed reaching base on a fielder’s choice. Casey Steadman reached base on an error, scoring Sharp, and advancing Fogg to third. The game was called with Fogg on third base and courtesy runner, Krystal Thornton, on second.
The game resumed on Thursday, the base runners took their same positions, with one out, and Ardmore in the lead 1-0. The Lady Tigers were not able to score another run in the inning.
In the top of the third inning, Ardmore pounded out five hits, to score five runs, taking a 6-0 lead. Brittney Brown led off for Ardmore with a double, followed by a single from Melissa Sharp. Brown then scored on a single hit by Shannon Fogg. Jada Norton reached first base on a bunt, to load the bases. Sharp scored when Casey Steadman was walked, as Fogg scored when Sara Jo Taylor hit a single. Norton then scored when Jennifer Ratley was thrown out at first by the second baseman. The Lady Tigers picked up three more runs in the top of the fourth inning, to take a 9-0 lead. Fogg reached base on an error and scored on a double hit by Norton. Steadman hit a single to right field, as Sara Jo Taylor reached base on a fielder’s choice. Courtesy runner, Thornton, and Taylor both scored when Amy Collier hit a single to deep left field.
Ardmore picked up their final run in the top of the seventh inning, pulling ahead 10-0. Amy Collier was walked and scored on a single hit by Candace Mills. Madison County picked up their only two runs of the game in the bottom of the seventh inning, as they rallied in four hits. The Lady Tigers advanced to the second round of Sub-state as they clutched their second win in the first round, with a 10-2 victory over Madison County.
Ardmore rounded out eleven hits in their win over Madison County. Melissa Sharp led with a triple and a single, while Shannon Fogg, and Jada Norton each picked up two singles. Other hitters for Ardmore were Casey Steadman, Sara Jo Taylor, Amy Collier, Candace Mills, and Brittney Brown, with a single each.

The Lady Tigers struggled with the bats in their first game against Central Florence, as they only racked up two hits. Melissa Sharp bunted a single and Jada Norton hit the other single.

Ardmore took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, that they were able to hold for the remainder of the game. Brittney Brown hit a single to left field and later stole home. Melissa Sharp reached base on a bunt and stole her way around the bases. Shannon Fogg scored Sharp on a sacrifice bunt to the pitcher.

The third game was very intense for both teams as their fate was on the line. The game was tied 2-2 in the last inning, sending the game into extra innings. Central Florence took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Lady Tigers battled back in the top of the third, racking up two runs, to take a 2-1 lead.
Amy Collier started things off for Ardmore, with a single. With two outs, Melissa Sharp hit a single to left field, to score Collier. Sharp later scored on a hit to left field by Jada Norton.
Central Florence tied the game late in the fifth inning, as Ardmore made two defensive errors. The Lady Tigers had an opportunity to score in the top of the eighth inning, but were unsuccessful. Casey Steadman reached second on a hit to center field. Sara Jo Taylor moved courtesy runner, Krystal Thornton, on a sacrifice bunt to third base, but Thornton was never able to score.
The Lady Tigers played good defense in the bottom of the inning, but Central Florence rallied with two hits, to score the winning run, crushing the Lady Tigers dreams of another trip to Montgomery.
The Lady Tigers hit the ball very well in their last game. Leading Ardmore in hits was Melissa Sharp with three singles. Shannon Fogg followed with two singles, while Jada Norton and Amy Collier each pulled away with one. Casey Steadman had a double.
