Clyde Lewter

Clyde Lewter, 84, of W. Hobbs Street, Athens, AL, formerly of Ardmore, AL, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Limestone Health Facility in Athens.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Payne officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Clyde Lewter was born June 9, 1922 in Ardmore, TN, to Deemer Lewter and Edna Boldin Lewter. He lived all his life in the Ardmore area and was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Ann Lewter; two brothers, Walter and Malcolm Lewter; and a sister, Annie Florence Pepper.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Lewter of Ardmore, TN; three daughters, Peggy Drake of Ardmore, AL, Brenda McGaha and Cathy Jones both of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, A.D. Lewter of Ardmore, TN, and Tommy Lewter of Ardmore, AL; four sisters, Annette Barnes of Ardmore, AL, Hazel Bowman of Nashville, TN, Gladys Demoldin of Orlando, FL, and Marie Phelps of Bowling Green, KY; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Wynell Fulton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.


Glenna Richey

Glenna Richey, 62, of Highland Drive, Ardmore, TN, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at her residence.

Glenna Richey was born in Bowie, TX, on May 31, 1944 to Hayward and Mae Dean Richey. She lived most of her life in Texas working as a computer programmer in Dallas before moving to Ardmore. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Nikirk.

Survivors include sons, Randall Smith of Ardmore, TN, Joseph Franklin Richey III of Alvarado, TX, and Russell Nikirk of Macon, GA; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


Sue Reaves

Sue Reaves, 66, of Scott Road, Hazel Green, AL, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.

Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at Madison Cross Roads Cemetery in Toney, AL, with Rev. Mac McCutcheon and Rev. Bob Phelps officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Sue was born in Talladega County, AL, on January 8, 1941 to Jessie Newell Tidwell and Florence McKay Tidwell. She was a member of Christ Church Cumberland Presbyterian in Madison, AL.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Reaves of Hazel Green, AL; daughters, Rebecca Ann (Michael) Davis of McDonough, GA, Mary Beth Reaves of Athens, AL; son, Robert Wayne Reaves of Toney, AL; brothers, Robert Newell Tidwell of Ardmore, AL and Jerry Wayne Tidwell of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Stephanie Brooke Davis of Brooklyn, NY, Corey Michael John Davis of McDonough, GA, Stephen Bower of VA, Jennifer Lee Reaves of Toney, AL, and Kristen Nicole Reaves of Toney, AL.


April Dawn Daly

April Dawn Daly, 35, of Cave Branch Road, Elkmont, AL, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at Hillside Hospital, Pulaski, TN.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 20, at 3 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Brister and Rev. Dale Mitchell. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

April Dawn Daly was born April 3, 1972 in Pulaski, TN, to Roger Dale Daly and Glenda Dale Toone Daly. She lived all her life in this area and worked as a private duty nurse.

Survivors include her parents, Roger Dale and Glenda Dale Daly of Elkmont, AL; son, Christian Manley and daughter, Meghan Manley both of Prattville, AL; special friend, Mike Wallace of Pulaski, TN; and sister, Belinda Daly Wray of Prospect, TN.


George A. Hamby

George A. Hamby, 67, of Smith Avenue, Ardmore, TN, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 23, at 11 a.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Elkmont, AL with Rev. Brent Hawkins officiating. Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George Alex Hamby was born June 19, 1939 in Pulaski, TN.

Survivors include sons, William John Hamby of McCordsville, IN, and Edwin Hamby of Lakeworth, FL; brothers, Billy Hamby of Pulaski, TN, and John Hamby of Boca Raton, FL; sister, Maggie Dean Hogan of Elkmont, AL; two grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.


Sonja Carolyn Goode

Sonja Carolyn Goode, 68, of Williams Road, Toney, AL, died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 22, at 1 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Brister officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.

Sonja was born April 3, 1939 in Eudora, MS to Russell Sing and Cecil Mauney Sing. She lived in this area 40 years and was of the Baptist faith. She worked as a computer programmer for the Army.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Goode of Toney, AL; sons, Rusty (Laura) Goode of Toney, AL, and Dusty (Kristy) Goode of Helena, AL; brothers, Eddie Ray Sing of Coldwater, MS, Danny Joe Sing of Hernando, MS, Dennis Mitchell of Hernando, MS; sister, Genice Sing of Hernando, MS; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Rusty Goode, Dusty Goode, Wesley Goode, Joey Duckworth, Phillip Locke, and Randy Black.


Mary Eagin

Mary Eagin, age 100, of Elkton, died Monday May 21, 2007, at Hillside Hospital, Pulaski, TN.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of the Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Rev. William Suddarth and Rev. John Ives officiating. Burial will be in the Elkton Cemetery with Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in charge.

Miss Eagin was a member of the Bryson Presbyterian Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include nieces, Dorothy Mitchell of Knoxville, TN, Jeanette P. Cross of Ardmore, Robin J. Parker of White Bluff, TN, Mary Elizabeth Parker of Nashville, TN, and Barbara Eagin of White Bluff, TN; and several other nieces and nephews.


Martha Lewter Lane

Martha Lewter Lane, 76, of West Main Street, Franklin, TN, died Sunday, May 20, 2007, at West Harpeth Terrace Convalescent Center, Franklin, TN.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 24, at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Brister and Rev. Debbie Eubanks officiating.

Martha was born June 2, 1930 in Ardmore, TN, to Lofton Lewter and Alma Lou Whitt Lewter. She was a graduate of Giles County High School and St. Thomas School of Nursing. She was director of nurses at Franklin Health Center and administrator of Rescare Home Health. Mrs. Lane was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church and lived in the Brentwood-Nashville area for 40 years.

Survivors include her husband, Garland “Joe” Lane of Nashville, TN; sons, Rick (Jane) Lane of Franklin, TN, and Joey (Suzette) Lane of Franklin, TN; grandsons, Joseph and Daniel Lane of Franklin, TN.


Ruby Mae Bagsby

Ruby Mae Bagsby, 79, of Elkmont, AL, died Thursday, May 17, 2007, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 19, at 1 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Bro. Charles Marable officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Bagsby was born July 13, 1927 in Limestone County, AL, to Walter Haggermaker and Fannie Mae Moyers Haggermaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Acie Haggermaker and Casey Haggermaker; and a sister, Myrtle Bartlett.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Bagsby of Elkmont, AL; daughters, Sheila Saunden of Elkmont, Carolyn Alves of Huntsville; brother, Edgar Haggermaker of Athens, AL; three sisters, Velma Street and Evalee Jones of Columbia, TN, and Mageline Webster of Huntsville; grandchildren, Mark Nelson, Regina Stanley, Leah Nelson, James Bagsby, Derek Saunden; great-grandchildren, Christopher Veers, Brianna Baker, Brenden Baker, Grayson Baker, Samantha Griffin, Christina Nelson and Makaya Saunden.

Pallbearers were Richard Saunden, Mike Alves, James Bagsby, Harold Haggermaker, Bill Webster, David Webster, Joey Brumlow and Jensen Harris.


Robert Wayne Shackelford

Robert Wayne Shackelford, 71, of Pulaski, TN, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at his home.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 20, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Giles Memory Gardens with Carr & Erwin Funeral Home in charge.

Robert Wayne Shackelford was the son of the late Renzo and Annie Dee Newton Shackelford.

Survivors include his wife, Sharron Shackelford of Pulaski; three step-sons, Josh Kraft of Cullman, AL, John Kraft of Hazel Green, AL, Jay Kraft of Goodspring, TN; one sister, Helen Joyce Turner of LaGrange, GA; and two grandchildren.
