Alton Wales Alton Wales, 64, of Ragsdale Creek Road, Elkmont, AL, died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at Tanner, AL. Funeral services were held Friday, May 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brent Hawkins officiating. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Alton Wales was born December 12, 1942, in Limestone County, AL, to Foster Wales and Audrey Mae Martin Wales. He lived all his life in North Alabama. He was of the Baptist faith and was employed by Ross Breeders for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Wales Alvarado and Dana Wales Alvarado both of Tanner, AL; three brothers, Billy Wales of Elkmont, AL, Rabon Wales of Pettusville, AL, and James Ray Wales of Elkmont, AL; two sisters, Betty McCurry of Athens, AL, and Rebecca Brewer of Veto, AL; four grandchildren, Justin, Monica, Brandon Alvarado and Briana Wales. Lorene Bates Culps Ida Lorene Bates Culps, 84, of 7th Street, Ardmore, AL, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, Athens, AL. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Faulk officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, TN, with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Ida Lorene Bates was born April 20, 1922 in Giles County, TN, to Fred Bates and Eva Hargrove Bates. She lived most of her life in the Ardmore area. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Mrs. Culps was preceded in death by her husband, Virgle Culps; a grandson, Tim Routon; and brothers, Tom, Houston and Herman Bates. Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Routon of Ardmore, AL; one sister, Frances Bauer of Ardmore, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Skip Bates, Gary Goats, Jon Bauer, Charles Slayton, Tony Slayton, and Wayne Bates. |
