Shara Flacy Announces Candidacy

Flacy has been a resident of Giles County since 1964. She is the daughter of Ramona Flacy of the Elkton-Ardmore area and the late Robert B. Flacy. Shara resides with her mother on a farm where they raise commercial Black Angus cattle and quarter horses.

Flacy attended public school in Elkton and Pulaski. She graduated from Giles County High School in 1974 as valedictorian of her class. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English with high honors in 1978 and where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She then enrolled in the University of Tennessee College of Law where she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree in 1981, she entered the private practice of law in Giles County. She received her license to practice law in Alabama in 1984. She served for three years as an Assistant Public Defender for the 22nd Judicial District of Tennessee. She was elected District Public Defender for the 22nd Judicial District
