Dear Editor,

Reading opens the doors to many opportunities. Unfortunately, there are a lot of children who are reluctant to pick up a book for enjoyment.

As a teacher, one of my toughest tasks, is getting children motivated to read for pleasure. This past school year, I had four local sponsors help encourage the students to read. The progress made by some students was priceless. I want to thank these people for lending me a helping hand. The sponsors were: True Discount, People’s Bank, Rab Shelton’s Furniture, and D & S Auto Sales. I would like to thank YOUR COMMUNITY SHOPPER for coming to the school and doing updates. This, too, excited the children.
