June 21 at 10 a.m. is the beginning of the summer reading program “Jungle Tales---Hiss, Rumble & Roar.” This first program will have Nan Fallin of T&N Acres with an animal exhibit. There should be a wallaby, snake, silky dove, fannic fox, hissing cockroach, and hedgehog among other things. Over 130 children have signed up for the four-week program. This year we are looking at keeping up with minutes rather than books that you spend in time reading or being read to. Please only count Ardmore Public Library’s books in your record keeping and please stay within your reading level. Southern Adventures tickets for a free round of mini-golf for the month of July will be given out to everyone who attends this program. June 28 at 10 a.m. the summer reading program will be held by “The Mad Scientist.” Come and see science magic with one of the best. Monday night, June 19, Maalac Steele of the Chamber of Commerce started Chess Night in the library’s Reading Room. Anyone of any age interested in learning to play or in learning new techniques is welcome to come and join in the fun on Monday nights from 5-7 p.m. “Life remains the same until the pain of remaining the same becomes greater than the pain of change.” --Anonymous |
