Boys And Girls Club Sonic Cruz-In June 29
One of the area highlights last summer was the monthly Cruz-In at Sonic Drive-in, providing area car buffs with an opportunity to view and display vintage vehicles while, at the same time, supporting a worthy cause.


Civitan, Police Reserves Collect School Supplies
The Ardmore Civitan and the Ardmore Police Reserves are joining forces to help children in need who will be attending Cedar Hill Elementary School this fall. When school begins on August 4, there will be some children whose parents may not be able to purchase all of the suggested supplies. Members of the Ardmore Civitan and the Police Reserves will be collecting items and donating them to Cedar Hill School to be distributed as needed to these students.


Blanche Third Graders Participate
In Cabbage/Scholarship Program

Third grade students at Blanche School recently grew cabbage plants for the Bonnie Plant Farm 3rd Grade Cabbage Program. The students tried to grow the largest cabbage possible.

Limestone Board of Education Meets
Two new positions were approved when the Limestone County Board of Education met in regular session Tuesday, June 20. New positions at Tanner include a multi handicapped special education teacher and a multi-handicapped instructional assistant.


10th Annual Spirit Camp Underway
Exciting sounds of Tiger cheers and dance music can be heard drifting from the gym at Ardmore High School this week as girls between the ages of five-years-old and sixth grade are participating in an exciting and educational cheerleading program.


Limestone County Coaches And Band Directors Surprised By Raises
Often overlooked is the fact that many Limestone County football coaches, basketball coaches, and band directors put in long hours, even during summer vacation, to help students hone their skills and improve their performance. Usually, these extra hours were donated, not paid.

Ardmore High School Head Basketball Coach Mike Sanderson formally tipped off the 2006 Tiger Basketball Camp for Boys on Monday, June 19. The annual camp is a much-anticipated event and is both exciting and educational for the players in attendance.


AHS Band Camp Slated For Week Of July 24
Although summer vacation is in full swing, band members at Ardmore High School are busy preparing for the annual Band Camp, to be held at the school during the week of July 24.

I hate to say this, believe me, I truly hate to say this, but I think we can now blow taps on the Atlanta Braves’ pennant hopes. I could be wrong; God knows I have been before. However, I truly do think that Atlanta’s chances of winning yet another National League East crown are about equal to that of Richard Simmons winning Macho Stallion of the Year.
