It rained Friday straightening out the blades on our sweet corn. Then about an inch on Saturday made the garden look fresh again. Heard from a neighbor out the road ½ mile, they had received over 3 inches in those two rains, while we had less than 2 inches. So these rains are spotty. Like Sunday, we just received a sprinkle, while just east of us they received another good rain.

How wonderful neighbors are. One afternoon Larry and Martha Gatrell came for a visit. And on Thursday afternoon Wilma Sylvester came visiting with a bunch of Gladiolas, 14 stems and 7 colors, which she left for me to enjoy.

Books for newborns is the project. August is our outing trip month. The July meeting is set for July 19, at the clubhouse at 9:30 a.m.

The dinner is the first Sunday in July, July 2, 2006, with lunch to be served at 12:30. Cousins, and friends are invited. Bring a covered dish for your family for lunch.
