The Ardmore Public Library’s annual “Summer Reading Program” formally kicked off on Wednesday, June 21.
The annual reading program is the highlight of the summer for many area children, providing an experience that is not only entertaining, but educational as well.
The theme of this year’s summer reading program is “Jungle Tales: Hiss, Rumble and Roar.” As is customary, the library is planning a four-week program filled with fun and activity for children between the ages of three and twelve.
According to Verlin Collins, library director, 138 children are enrolled in this year’s program and all seem to be enjoying the activities.
Along with the program, the library tries to give incentives to children in order to promote encouragement for reaching goals in reading.
The Summer Reading Program will be held on Wednesdays through next week, July 12.
