William Frederick Bumpus William Frederick (Freddie/Fritz) Bumpus, 92, of Athens, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, in Huntsville, AL. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 29, at 10 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Sam Hobson officiating. Burial was in the Germantown Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Bumpus was born November 6, 1913, at Coffee Pot in Limestone County. A veteran of World War II, he served at Tinian Island. He was a graduate of Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL, and retired from Prestolite. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a Mason. Mr. Bumpus was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Bumpus; his father and stepmother, Artie and Tera Bumpus; two brothers, Noble and Earl; and two sisters, Sylvia Mangum and Helen Luna. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Clara Ruf Bumpus; one niece, Nedra Dailey and her husband, Dan. Pallbearers were cousins. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class from First Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or First Presbyterian Church Building Fund. Margaret Ione McNeese Margaret Ione McNeese, 88, of the Elkton Community, died Friday, June 30, 2006, at Hillside Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Dryden and Rev. Randall Hamlett officiating. Burial was in the Dunnavant Cemetery in Prospect, TN, with Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. McNeese was a member of the Ephesus Church of Christ and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Lola Gordon Dunnavant; husband, Grady McNeese; daughter, Gaylia McNeese; brothers, C.H. Dunnavant and Gordon Dunnavant; and a sister, Mary Sam Chambers. Survivors include sons, Terry McNeese of Elkton, TN, and Harold McNeese and wife Margie of Lyles, TN; daughter, Carole McNeese Mealer and husband Kenneth of Elkton, TN; brother, Wendell Dunnavant of Arizona; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Ronald Massey Ronald Massey, 57, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, in Nashville, TN. Funeral services were held Friday, June 23, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Robin Beets officiating. Burial was in the Giles Memory Gardens with Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Massey was an Army veteran and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Riley and Beatrice Daws Massey. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Massey of Prospect, TN; son, Ronald Massey, Jr. and wife Denise of Pulaski; daughter, Stephanie Massey of Pulaski; brother, Donald Massey and wife Regina of Minor Hill, TN; sister, Pat DeFoe and husband James of Pulaski; and one grandchild. |
