The Limestone County All-Stars, a 12-year-old baseball team consisting of talented players from the county, finished second in the State Tournament, held last week in Jasper, Alabama.
By finishing second in the tourney, the team has qualified to advance to the World Series in Moody, Alabama, which starts on July 14.
Limestone County swept through the winners’ bracket until the last game, where they lost to Huffman, a team from Birmingham.
After the first Huffman game, the All-Stars had to defeat Springville to advance to the finals. The team dispatched Springville, but had to win over Huffman twice to take the tournament championship.
The All-Stars won the first game 7-5 but came up just short in the second game.
