Tuition Deadline Nears For Ardmore, TN Students
The deadline for paying tuition fees for Ardmore, TN residents who plan for their children to attend either Ardmore High School or Cedar Hill Elementary School during 2006-07 is rapidly approaching.


Next “Cruz-In” Set For July 27
The Boys and Girls Club of Ardmore, in partnership with Sonic Drive-in, will host their second “Cruz-In” of 2006 on Thursday, July 27. The event starts at 6 PM.


Giles County Early Voting Is Underway
Early voting for all elections in Giles County began on Friday, July 14 and will run through Saturday, July 29. Early voting will be held at the Giles County Election Commission office


Rodger Weakley Wins $100 Gas Certificate
Rodger Weakley of Ardmore, Tennessee was recently surprised as he won a $100 gas certificate, courtesy of the Jim Berry Insurance Agency (Allstate) and Daly and Son Pure Station


Tax Rate Unchanged, New City Recorder
When the Elkton Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in regular session, Thursday, July 13, they approved the tax rate of 33 cents per $100 real or personal property or $3.30 per $1,000. The ordinance leaving the tax rate the same as the previous year passed unanimously on three readings. On the first reading Alderman Carolyn Holt made the motion while Alderman Doug Turner seconded the motion. Turner made the motion on the second reading with a second from Holt. Holt made the motion on the third reading with a second from Turner.


Eddie Bass Is Candidate For Tennessee House
Eddie Bass has officially announced that he is a Democratic candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives from the 65th District, which includes Giles and Marshall counties.


Ardmore High School Band Camp Gets Underway Next Week
The sounds of drums, horns, and other instruments will fill the air at Ardmore High School later this month in what has become an annual tradition. Band members at Ardmore High School are busy preparing for the annual Band Camp, to be held at the school during the week of July 24.


Rodeo Queen And Cowboy Pageant Slated For August 6
August is rapidly approaching and that means that it is getting close to time for the 14th Annual Ardmore Police Reserves Rodeo Queen and Cowboy Pageant. The much-anticipated event will be held on August 6 at the City of Ardmore, TN City Hall Annex.


Clean Up Crew Takes Third Place In State Tournament
The Clean Up Crew, a nine-year-old All-Star Baseball Team from Limestone County, continued its march toward the World Series by capturing third place in the recent State Tournament, held in Hanceville, Alabama.


Bistros Take Fifth In Nashville Tourney
The Bistros, a men’s fast-pitch softball team from Ardmore, recently made the trek north to Nashville to compete in a highly competitive tournament comprised of an 11-team field.


Ardmore Masonic Lodge/Pizza Hut To Host Fast-Pitch Tournament
Area softball fans are in for a treat in August as the Ardmore Masonic Lodge and Pizza Hut Italian Bistro team up to host a men’s fast-pitch softball tournament. The tournament, which has attracted teams from as far away as Atlanta, will take place at John Barnes Park on August 19 and August 20.


6th Annual Ardmore Fire & Rescue Truck & Tractor Pull Held
The roar of straining engines could be heard last Friday and Saturday night as the Ardmore Fire Department held its annual Truck and Tractor pull. Competitors from all over the Southeast and even the Midwest displayed their tricked-out trucks and tractors and a large crowd turned out to cheer them on.
