Acie Eugene Puckett
Acie Eugene Puckett, 89, of Normandy, TN, formerly of Elkwood, AL, and Ardmore, TN, area died Friday, June 16, 2006, in a hospital in Shelbyville, TN, following a massive stroke on June 7, 2006.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 19, at 10 a.m. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fayetteville, TN. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Lynchburg Funeral Home in charge.
Acie Eugene Puckett was born July 30, 1916, in Lincoln County, TN, to Thomas Acie Puckett and Eva Franklin Puckett. In the Normandy area, he was known as Acie, but in the Ardmore area he was known as Gene. A veteran of WWII, Gene served in the South Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Mae Campbell (aka Batty Mae).
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Barnes Puckett; two sons, Tom Puckett (Cathy) of Arizona, Tony Puckett of Normandy, TN; daughter, Patty Puckett McIntyre (Rev. Dave) of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren; a sister, Odell Puckett Smith of Ardmore, TN; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, a few cousins and many friends; a special friend, Robert Yoder of Shelbyville, TN.
Edith D. Wilkinson
Edith D. Wilkinson, 95, of Samaritan Drive, Cumming, GA, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Home, Cumming, GA.
Graveside services were held Thursday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Giles Memory Gardens in Pulaski, TN, with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Wilkinson was born November 26, 1910 in Veto, AL, to David Daly and Hattie Tyler Daly. She lived most of her life in Giles County, TN, and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, M.A. Wilkinson; a daughter, Mary Frances; and a son, Don.
Survivors include son, Gary Wilkinson of Nashville, TN; daughters, Norma Jean Barlar of Atlanta, GA, Joyce Popkin of Jacksonville, NC, Patricia Morring of Harvest, AL, Deborah Metcalf of Houston, TX; brother, David Daly of Pulaski, TN; sisters, Frances Allen of Nashville, TN, Doris Smith of Tampa, FL, and Esterlene Jones of Pulaski, TN; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Melissa Shay Aycock
Melissa Shay Aycock, 29, of Bethel Road, Elkmont, AL, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Hargrove officiating. Burial was in the Elliott Cemetery in Ardmore.
Melissa Shay Aycock was born December 27, 1976 in Athens, AL, to Jerry Wayne Aycock and Lana Starlene Martin Aycock. She lived all her life in this area. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Terry Blake Howington, 54, of Old Railroad Bed Road, Ardmore, AL, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at his home.

Terry Blake Howington was born September 28, 1951 in Bluefield, VA, to Paul William Howington and Maxine Harrison Howington (now Grice). He lived in this area approximately 10 years after coming from North Carolina. He was a member of the Huntsville Park Church of Christ and was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Melba P. Howington of Ardmore, AL; his mother, Maxine Harrison Grice of Huntsville, AL; son, John Wesley Howington of Melbourne, FL; daughters, Angel H. (Andy) Sokolik of Madison, AL, Ashley H. (Roger) Brown of Ardmore, AL, and Jennifer A. Howington of Ardmore, Al; brother, Paul W. Howington, Jr. of Decatur, AL; sister, Patricia H. James Bradley Martin, 70, of Benson Drive, Fayetteville, TN, died Friday, July 21, 2006, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 26, at 11 a.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Ivey officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. prior to the service Wednesday.

Alma Lucille Reyer Patterson
Alma Lucille Reyer Patterson, 91, of 1384 Ardmore Highway, Taft, TN, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, in Donalson Care Center, Fayetteville, TN.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Marable officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery beside her late husband, Woodrow Patterson who died in 1971.
A native of Madison County, AL, Mrs. Patterson was the daughter of the late C.L. and Rossie Dollar Reyer. She was a homemaker and a member of Stateline Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Carlene Patterson and Katie McConnell.
Survivors include four daughters, Anne Lindsey and Debbie Linville both of Fayetteville, Wanda Dollar of Taft and Brenda Kidd Howard of Cornersville; four sons, Leon Patterson of Dellrose, Ray Patterson of Athens, AL, Richard and Jimmy Patterson both of Elkton, TN; sister, Estelle Reyer and brother, Alton Reyer both of Ardmore, AL; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Ethel Mae Ussery, 84, of 1401 North Malone Street, Athens, AL, died Monday, July 17, 2006, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Marshall Norman and Clyde Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Ethel Mae Ussery was born September 3, 1921 to Dave Russell and Jennie Atkinson Russell in Limestone County, AL. Mrs. Ussery was a member of the Sardis Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Ussery.
Survivors include daughters, Joyce Hebert of Decatur, AL, Linda McCafferty of Ardmore, AL, Patricia Sanders of Decatur, AL, and Debra Ussery of Pulaski, TN; sons, Kenneth Ussery of Ardmore, AL, R.L. Ussery of Athens, AL; 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Pearly Pack of Ardmore, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Elizabeth (Bee) Davis
Elizabeth (Bee) Davis, 88, of Prospect Community, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Hewitt House in Pulaski, TN.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, July 20, at 10 a.m. in the Prospect Cemetery with Thomas Smith officiating.
Miss Davis was a teacher in the Giles County and Athens, Alabama City School systems for many years and an avid UT Lady Vols basketball fan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Howard and Elizabeth Gilbert Davis, Sr.
Survivors include her brother, William “Bill” Davis of Prospect, TN, and Tommy Davis and wife Elinor of Prospect, TN; nieces, Diane Davis Frost and husband Ken of Texas and Debbie Davis Pardon of Pulaski, TN; four great-grandchildren, Bess Frost-Hunter and husband Erik of California, Rachel Frost of Texas, Will Pardon of Knoxville, TN, and Davis Pardon of Pulaski.
