So far we missed a good rain. We received 1/10-inch Saturday morning, but the crops, pastures, gardens, and yards sure need a good soaking rain. Maybe everyone will get one soon.

The Oak Grove Homemakers Club met third Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at the clubhouse with 8 members present. President Jeanette Davis called the meeting to order with the thought “Where you go here after is determined by what you go after here.”

Patsy Ruf led in the devotional using Philippians 3:13-14. The ladies sang “My Country tis of Thee”. Followed by the pledge to the U. S. Flag. Roll Call and June minutes by Secretary Mary Ann Jacobs, treasurer’s report by Clara Bumpus.

Business: 60 books were turned in for the new borns. The club outing replaces August meeting.

Hazel Ruf led the program on Alabama. The motto: “We Dare Defend Our Rights”. She brought out many facts and information about the state, making an interesting program.
