Property Tax Relief Funding Increased For Tennesseans
Giles County Trustee Jo Ann Townsend announced this week that funding for the state’s property tax relief program for low-income elderly, disabled, disabled veterans and widows of disabled veteran homeowners has been increased.


Crape Myrtle Festival Set
The Ardmore AL/TN Chamber of Commerce is making plans for the annual Crape Myrtle Festival. This year’s festival will be held Saturday, August 26, at the John Barnes Park in Ardmore, TN.


Rodeo Set This Weekend
Get our your boots and cowboy hat and get ready for a weekend of rodeo fun in Ardmore. The Ardmore Police Reserves 14th Annual Pro Rodeo will be held at John Barnes Park Friday and Saturday, August 11-12. Activities will begin at 8 p.m. both nights. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.


Area Voters Go To The Polls
Voters in the Ardmore area have had a chance to voice their opinions and support their candidates in recent elections. Giles and Lincoln County voters went to the polls on August 3. Limestone County voters made their final decisions in a run-off election a few weeks earlier on July 18.


Christmas In August Toy Drive In Progress
The Dollar General Store, located at the corner of Union Hill Road and Main Street, is currently conducting a Christmas In August Toy Drive to assist the Ardmore Civitan Toy Chest Project.


Annual Ardmore Quarterback Club Car, Truck And Bike Show Saturday
Classic car aficionados are in for a special treat as the Ardmore Quarterback Club will present the 6th Annual Car, Truck and Bike Show at John Barnes Park on Saturday, August 12. Hours of the event will be from 10 AM until 3 PM.


King’s Kids Soccer Sign-Up Saturday
King’s Kids Soccer at First Baptist Church, Ardmore will have sign-ups Saturday, August 12. All children ages three through 14 (as of July 1, 2006) may sign up from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.


Ardmore Tiger Band Camp Held
Members of the Ardmore High School Band participated in Band Camp July 24-27 at the school. The band has a new half-time show for this year’s football season entitled “The Mask of Zorro”. The half-time show features three flag changes and featured twirler Heather Zirbel.


Ardmore High School Reserve Football Seats Now On Sale
Reserve seats at Cooper Field for the Ardmore High School home football games are now on sale at the school office. Those who had seats last year may renew their seats through August 18. On August 21, the seats will be open to everyone.


The Blanche Gridiron Club Has
Many Projects Now Underway
The Blanche Gridiron Club was established in 2005 to support the football team at Blanche School. The club is off to a great start and is ahead of schedule on their 5-year progress plan.


Bulldogs To Participate In Jamboree Saturday
The Blanche Bulldogs football team is ready to begin the season, according to Coach Scott Woodfin. The Bulldogs will be participating in the Lincoln County Jamboree Saturday, August 12, at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln County High School.
