Bulldogs To Participate
In Jamboree Saturday

The Blanche Bulldogs football team is ready to begin the season, according to Coach Scott Woodfin. The Bulldogs will be participating in the Lincoln County Jamboree Saturday, August 12, at 5:30 p.m. at Lincoln County High School.

“The Bulldog team is small in numbers with only 18, but they have really been working hard,” said Coach Woodfin.

The Bulldogs have just completed 2-a-day practices last week and are looking forward to beginning the season.

“It’s been tough the last couple of weeks with the heat,” Woodfin said. “We started with 26 players and now we’re down to 18 players. This sport is not for everyone. There are a lot of sacrifices made. We have worked very hard to field a team to represent this school and community and uphold the tradition that this school has built over the years,” Woodfin added.

Saturday’s Jamboree action begins at 5 p.m. at the Lincoln County High School stadium. Middle school teams will play in the following order: Stone Bridge Academy vs. Flintville, Unity vs. Highland Rim, Blanche vs. South Lincoln. Ninth grade teams will follow the middle school teams with Giles County playing against Fayetteville City and Ninth Grade Academy competing against Tullahoma.

The 2006 Blanche Bulldog regular football season begins August 15 at Cooper Field against Unity followed by a game at home against Fayetteville City on August 22. The Bulldogs travel to South Giles on August 31 and will compete against South Lincoln at home on September 7. Blanche will travel to Flintville on September 12 and to Highland Rim on September 19. The Bulldogs will take on Westminster Academy in Huntsville on September 26 and Stone Bridge Academy in Fayetteville on October 3. They will conclude the season with the CooperBowl on October 9. All games begin at 6:30 p.m.
