Registration Open For Boys And Girls Club

Registration for the fall program at the Ardmore Boys and Girls Club is now open for students. The Boys and Girls Club fall program is open to children from kindergarten through ninth grade, according to Director Robin Hargrove.

The Ardmore Boys and Girls Club is a part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Limestone County. It is their mission to promote character for all youth, while motivating them to become good citizens and responsible leaders. Boys and Clubs build character though everyday leadership and guidance in behavior and attitude.

Trained staff provides positive adult mentors and role models. Nationally recognized programs help young people succeed in school, stay healthy, learn important life skills, pursue interests in arts and sports, and explore vocational choices.

Most importantly, the Boys and Girls Club shows youngsters that someone cares and wants them to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens, by offering programs in five Core Programs areas:

Character and Leadership Development--Examples: Torch Club, Junior Staff, Youth of the Year, and community service projects.

Education and Career Development-Examples: Power Hour, tutoring, educational games, motivational reading programs, and utilizing computer technology to improve the quality of life.

Health and Life Skills-Example: Smart Moves, Street Smart, health and prevention programs, cooking class, Passport to Manhood.

The Arts-Examples: Drawing, dance, painting, photography, puppetry, storytelling, music, A Different World, crafts.

Sport, Fitness & Recreation-Examples: Lifetime sports, challenges, relay races, game room activities, socials, hiking, camping trips or lock ins.

The fees are $100 per child from August through December. Transportation is provided after school. Hours are 2:30-6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday. When school is out, the Boys and Girls Club is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
