Blanche Lady Bulldogs Open
Volleyball Season With A Win

Blanche School Lady Bulldog volleyball team opened their season August 7, against Stone Bridge Academy. Playing the best two out of three for the match, the Lady Bulldogs made a strong showing. They won in two straight games. In the first game of the series Blanche won 25 to SBA's 8. In the second game, Blanche scored 25 and SBA 9 points. The Lady Bulldogs used good serving and sound defense in their win over SBA.

"I was pleased with our effort our first time out," said Head Coach Randy Milligan. "We need to get our timing down. The season has just started and we still have some areas to work on and improve on. I am excited about the season and hope for a good year," Milligan added.

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Unity on August 10 to take on the Lady Lions. It was the opener for the Lady Lions. The Lady Bulldogs got out of the gates quickly getting their first 13 serves in and winning the points. The score of the first game was Blanche 25 and Unity 2. In the second game the ladies from Blanche kept the pressure on the Lady Lions by strong serving. The score of the second game was Blanche 25 and Unity 2. The lady Bulldogs have moved 2-0 in conference play.

"We played much better tonight," said Coach Milligan after the game. "I was very pleased with our serving and the play of our younger players."

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Flintville on Monday, August 14. They will host Highland Rim on Thursday, August 17.
