Elkton Fire Department
Responds To Two Calls

The Elkton Fire Department responded to two calls on Saturday, August 19, according to Assistant Chief Payton Blade.

The first call came in Saturday afternoon at 4:30 as a brush fire that had gotten out of control. When firefighters arrived on the scene at 1546 Vinta Mill Road, it was found to be a small grass fire, which was quickly extinguished. The fire had originated from a trash fire that was left unattended.

Elkton firemen were called to a motor vehicle accident Saturday at midnight. The single vehicle accident was on Market Street in Elkton. The vehicle ran off the road behind David’s Market taking down a chain link fence and ending up on its side in Beaty Branch. The driver was taken to Hillside Hospital by Giles County Ambulance Service.
