Blanche Lady Bulldogs It’s was a good week for the Blanche Lady Bulldogs. They traveled to Lincoln County High School and participated in the second jamboree. The jamboree was made up of all the middle schools in the county. On Friday, August 11 there was pool play among all the teams. The Lady Bulldogs’ opponents were Stone Bridge Academy and Highland Rim. The Lady Bulldogs defeated both teams and were seeded number for the tournament on Saturday, August 12. The Lady Bulldogs went on to win the tournament and were never forced to play a third game in the best 2 out of 3. (Note: We did not keep a scorebook at the game I do not have the scores). “ I was very pleased with our effort in the jamboree,” Coach Randy Milligan stated. “We started off slow on Friday but came out ready to play on Saturday. It was good scouting opportunity to see all of our opponents in one place. It was very good volleyball this past weekend. Coach Carmichael and his volleyball program at the high school did a great job,” Milligan added. On August 14 the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Bobcats of Flintville. The Lady Bulldogs got off to quick start and never trailed. Blanche took the first game 25-6. In the second game Blanche kept the pressure on the ladies from Flintville and won 25-9. Blanche played its trademark volleyball with good serving and solid fundamental play through out the game. “I was pleased with our effort, our timing is coming around, and we are playing a better each time out. We need to keep getting better as the season goes on,” said Coach Milligan. The Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 4-0 in conference on August 15 as they hosted the Highland Rim Lady Hornets. “It was a big game for us going in,” said Coach Milligan. “I have a lot of respect for their program and they are always a dangerous opponent.” Both teams got off to slow start early in the first game. The Lady Bulldogs made an 11 point run as Haley Cobb was serving strong and the Lady Bulldogs picked up their play and won by the score of 25-5. In the second game of the evening they fought off an early charge from Highland Rim and went on to win by score 25-8. The Blanche Lady Bulldogs hosted Riverside Christian Academy on Monday, August 21 and will travel to South Lincoln on August 24. Both games are scheduled to start at 6:00. |
