Story Time for preschoolers will begin Wednesday, September 6, at 10 a.m. Becky Smith will be coordinating this first yearly program. The program’s length and time-line will coordinate with the Ardmore-Limestone School year. This is a library-sponsored program that enables the preschoolers of the community to get together while reading books and doing other interacting activities. It is free to all that want to participate.

Thanks to Maalac Steele for coordinating Chess Night in the Library’s Reading Room every Monday night from 5-7 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to this free program, too. This program is a great time for the young and old to come and test their skills against each other. Sorry for the noise this last Monday night when I decided to join in the fun.

The Friends of the Ardmore Public Library will start back on September 13 at 1 p.m. in the City Annex Building behind the Library. Their first fall program will begin with an auction. Everyone that wants to participate in the auction needs to bring an item to be auctioned off, and their loose change so as to bid on other items that are available. This yearly event brings in some nice interaction among the members while raising some nice funds for the library. Barbara Burk will be the auctioneer again this year. Also, now until the first of the year the Friends will be having some great programs and it would be a great time to become a member of the Friends. Yearly dues are five dollars. So whether you want to participate in the auction or you want to become a member of the Friends then please come and join them on the 13th.
