Homecoming Sunday At Pleasant Grove Baptist
The congregation of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church will host Homecoming services Sunday, September 10.


Cedar Hill PTO’s Fair Slated September 14-16
The Cedar Hill Elementary PTO will sponsor the second annual Cedar Hill PTO Fair Thursday, Friday and Saturday, September 14, 15 and 16. The fair will be open from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday and from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday. The fair will be set up on Ardmore Avenue on the lot in front of First Baptist Church.

Holt Named As Elkton’s Vice-Mayor
After a seven-minute uninterrupted appeal from Carolyn Holt to be chosen vice-mayor of Elkton, her request was granted. By a 3-2 vote Holt was elected to serve in that position for the next two years.



Revival Services Slated Kelly’s Creek Baptist
Revival services will be held September 17 through September 20 at the Kelly’s Creek Baptist Church. Services will begin at 7:00 nightly.

Men’s Conference Is Slated September 16

Tigers Rout Red Devils In Season Opener 42-21
Ardmore High School’s junior tailback Derrick Green opened the 2006 in grand fashion at Cooper Field last Friday night. Running behind a solid offensive line and downfield blocking, Green amassed 215 yards rushing and scored four touchdowns as the Tigers defeated the visiting Elkmont Red Devils by a score of 42-21.

Region 8 Foes Win Openers
Sparkman and Hazel Green were both successful in their respective season openers last Friday. Sparkman defeated Clay Chalkville 38-29 and Hazel Green stopped Walker 16-10.

Lady Tigers Best At Tanner
The Lady Tigers captured the championship at the Tanner Invitational Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. With wins over West Morgan B, West Limestone and Tanner, Ardmore advanced to tournament semifinals. In the tournament Ardmore bested Clements and East Limestone to win the championship.



Giles County Bobcats Perfect In Three Tries
Josh Perez scored twice and quarterback Joseph Dunavant was in on three six-pointers when the Giles County Bobcats won their third game in a row in Ashland City Friday night. The Bobcats downed the Cheatham County Cubs 35-21.


Falcons Get Region Win
The Lincoln County Falcons blanked the Warren County Pioneers 17-0 in their regional opener last Friday.
