Lady Tigers Fall To ABS
The Athens Bible School Lady Trojans have been a stumbling block for the Ardmore Lady Tiger varsity volleyball team all season. The Lady Tigers dropped two matches to ABS in a three-day span last week.
Last Thursday ABS won a best of five home match and then stopped Ardmore twice Saturday in the semifinals of the Elkmont Invitational.
In Thursday’s loss, Ardmore fell 25-17, 25-12 and 25-28.
The Lady Tigers won a match and lost a match in pool play at Elkmont on Saturday. After dropping a 25-16 and 25-23 match to East Limestone, the Lady Tigers beat West Morgan 25-21 and 25-17.
In the first round of the tournament it took three to determine a winner against West Limestone. The Lady Tigers won 25-19 before falling 25-8. They took the third game 15-13. Chelsea Blakely’s ace ended the match.
The Lady Trojans eliminated Ardmore from the nine-team meet with a 25-14 and 25-11 win.
Elkmont took home the championship. The Lady Red Devils stopped East Limestone in the semifinals. East won the opener 25-12, before Elkmont won two in a row. The Lady Red Devils won 27-25 and 15-11.
