Diamond Club Meeting by Dwight Turner Area residents are advised that the first meeting of the Ardmore Diamond Club for the 2007 season is scheduled for Sunday, September 17 at 3 PM. The meeting will be held in the Ardmore High School cafeteria. The Ardmore Diamond Club, the brainchild of Tiger Head Baseball Coach Lee Walker, was formed to provide support and direction for the baseball program at Ardmore High School. The club is now in its second year. “Sometimes it can be difficult to drum up support for the baseball program during football season,” said Walker. “However, the community has gotten behind the idea and we are making progress. Our goal is to be able to get needed things done prior to the start of the baseball season next February.” Membership in the Ardmore Diamond Club is set up in an identical fashion as membership in the Ardmore Quarterback Club. Membership fees are $35 per year for individuals and $50 per year for families. Membership runs for one year, based on the sign up date. According to Walker, next Sunday’s meeting is an important one. Walker also wants to let area residents and businesses know that outfield signs are still available for the 2007 season.
