Goal Line Stand Gives Red Devils Win

The Elkmont Red Devil defense used a goal line stand to hold off a Clements Colts come-from-behind bid at the 1-yard line for a 27-21 win.

The Colts had moved the ball 50-yards in just more than a minute and a half before the Red Devils denied the touchdown.

The Red Devils led 14-13 after Chance Newby scored on 4-yard carry and John Schrimsher kicked the extra-point.

Joshua McWilliams intercepted a Cody Arnold pass in the next Clements series before Seth Batchelor stripped the ball from McWilliams. Cobb scored two plays later on a 23-yard pass from Arnold. That duo connected on the points-after-pass to tie the game at 21-21.

The go ahead touchdown for the visiting Red Devils came when Jonathan Carter hit Tim Woolridge with a scoring pass. Schrimsher kicked the extra point to give the Red Devils the lead for good.
