Hugs” Now In Progress
A Hometown Hugs program is in progress through September at Movie Gallery in Ardmore.The goal of Hometown Hugs is to make frightening experiences a little easier for children.

Cedar Hill Elementary PTO Fair Is A Success
Last Thursday, Friday and Saturday had beautiful weather bringing out the community of all ages to enjoy the great rides, carnival food and games at Cedar Hill Elementary PTO’s 2nd Annual Fair held on Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore, AL.


Coat Drive In Progress
Members of the Ardmore Masonic Lodge are collecting coats for their annual coat drive. The coats and jackets collected will be distributed locally to the less fortunate.

Lady Tigers Get Best Of Tanner
The Ardmore Lady Tigers won three consecutive games when the Tanner Lady Rattlers came to visit for a varsity volleyball match last Thursday.


Blanche Lady Bulldogs Improve Record
The Blanche Lady Bulldogs volleyball team pulled off the sweep this week on the road. Blanche traveled to Flintville on Monday, September 11, and took on the Lady Bobcats. Blanche came out strong and played a solid match. The score of the first game was Blanche 25 and Flintville 9. The Lady Bulldogs took the second game Blanche 25 and Flintville 10. The win improved Blanche’s record to 9-0.


Tigers Fall At Home To Area Foe N. Jackson
Ardmore High School’s Varsity Football Team knew it would be in for a stiff challenge when perennial regional powerhouse North Jackson invaded Cooper Field last Friday night. The Chiefs are a mainstay in Alabama High School post-season action and this year’s team from North Jackson seems bent on maintaining that winning tradition.


Elkmont Mistakes Costly
Chance Newby scored two touchdowns and John Schrimsher kicked a pair of extra points but it was not enough as the Golden Bears of Lexington defeated the Elkmont Red Devils 22-14.


Riverdale Warriors Too Much For Falcons
A tenacious Riverdale Warrior defense made life difficult Friday night for the Lincoln County has the headed back to Murfreesboro with a 39-7 win.


Bobcats Beat Spring Hill
For the first time this season, the Giles County High School Bobcats trailed going into the fourth quarter. The Bobcats scored the last 14 points of the Region 5 3A contest against the visiting Raiders of Spring Hill for a 21-13 victory.


September ‘Cruz-In’ Planned
Everyone throughout the area who owns a unique or collectible car or truck is invited to participate in the ‘Cruz-In’ at Sonic in Ardmore on Thursday, September 28. The Boys and Girls Club of Ardmore, in partnership with Sonic Drive-in, will host the “Cruz-In” beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sonic Drive-in on Main Street.


Talkin' Baseball
An amazing era came to an end on the night of Tuesday, September 12. It was an era in baseball history that made many local fans happy, at least until mid-October, then repeatedly dashed those same fans on the shoals of disappointment.
