This week’s Passing Parade, we salute Ed Thompson of the U.S. Navy pictured with Bob Allen Gray. On a U.S. Navy furlough when the photo was made. he invited friend, Bob Allen Gray, to take in some movies at the Capital Theater.

Ed was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Thompson of Liberty Community.

Death came to Charles Henderson, Leonard Locker and earlier to Bobby Locker. Leonard Locker graduated with me at Liberty School. Juell Locker was valedictorian. Frankie Locker was the salutatorian. According to Martha Ann Rainey, another teacher, I made the best speech.

Don’t forget the Koonce-Ventress Reunion will be held the first Sunday in October.
