Riverdale Warriors Too Much For Falcons

A tenacious Riverdale Warrior defense made life difficult Friday night for the Lincoln County has the headed back to Murfreesboro with a 39-7 win.

Jeremy Ramsey, who suffered from a dislocated jaw in last week’s Falcons win over Warren County, scored the lone Falcon touchdown on 3-yard run in the third quarter. R. J. Sandmeyer provided the extra point.

The Warriors scored the first 17 points. In the opening quarter Alex Fraley kicked a 36-yard field goal before Scott Thomas scored on a 1-yard carry with Farley kicking the extra point.

In the second quarter the Warriors got a safety on an intentional grounding call in the end zone on the Falcons. The other six-points that period came from Chad Hunter on a 1-yard carry.

Jeremy McClain raced 95-yards for a touchdown following Ramsey’s six-pointer. Farley provided the extra point. While in the fourth quarter McCain scored on an 18-yard and Marty Newsom on an 80-yard run.

Lincoln County travels to Winchester Friday to face the Rebels of Franklin County.
