Bobcats Beat Spring Hill

For the first time this season, the Giles County High School Bobcats trailed going into the fourth quarter. The Bobcats scored the last 14 points of the Region 5 3A contest against the visiting Raiders of Spring Hill for a 21-13 victory.

With the win Giles County and David Lipscomb are atop the region standings with perfect 2-0 record. Marshall County, who had already picked up two region wins, fell to Page 25-22.

Josh Perez and John Stafford scored all the first quarter points for the winners. Perez scored on an 8-yard run before Stafford kicked the extra point.

Spring scored in the second and third period. Before the half, the Raiders score on a 42- yard run and after the half on a 19-yard carry. Both point-after kicks were successful.

Drew McNairy scored on a 1-yard carry in the third quarter and Stafford kicked the extra point. Joseph Dunavant’s 1-yard quarterback sneak sealed the win. Stafford kicked the extra point.

The Bobcats will host non-region foe Ensworth Friday.
