Sparkman’s “The Crimson Crier”
Awarded Gold Medal

For the third consecutive year Sparkman High School’s student newspaper, “The Crimson Crier,” has been awarded its third gold medal from the Columbia University Scholastic Press Association.

This is the highest national award a student newspaper can receive. The newspaper’s score was 25 points from a perfect score, which qualifies them for the Gold Crown competition.

Erin Coggins served as Advisor of the 2005-06 newspaper.
