Ardmore, Tennessee City Council Meets
Ardmore, TN Mayor Bobby Hastings brought the meeting to order Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006. Ken Crosson lead in prayer. Present at the meeting were Mayor Hastings; Aldermen Ken Crosson, Raymond Crabtree, Garon Hargrove, Laurene Schrimsher, Janice Reece and Tim McConnell.


Community Loses Business Owners
The Ardmore community lost two local business owners with the recent deaths of Frances Carter and Glen “Turk” Magnusson. Carter died Saturday, October 7, at her home in Ardmore. Magnusson died Monday, October 9, at Huntsville Hospital.


Miss Shannon Fogg Is ‘06 Homecoming Queen
Ardmore’s 2005 Homecoming Queen Laura Shaw was on hand Friday evening to crown 2006 Homecoming Queen Shannon Fogg during a victorious win for the Ardmore Tiger football team.


Large Trash Pickup Will Begin Mon.
Large household trash items will be picked up October 16 through October 20. The City/Town of Ardmore will pick up the items beginning Monday morning. No building materials, brush, paint, vehicle parts containing oil, nothing containing a refrigerant (air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.) and no vehicle batteries will be picked up. Officials stated that if any of the above-mentioned items are placed with other trash, nothing will be picked up.

Tigers Roll Over Madison County At Homecoming
In a fitting end to Homecoming Week festivities, the Ardmore High School Varsity Football Team scored an impressive win over the visiting Madison County Tigers at Cooper Field last Friday night.


Red Devils In Thick Of Region Race
The Elkmont Red Devils kept in contention of a playoff berth Friday with a 23-13 win over the visiting Lauderdale County Tigers.


Two Top Tennessee Teams Battle In The Pit
When the Coffee County Red Raiders invade the pit Friday to face the Lincoln Cou nty Falcons, it will be a battle between two teams with perfect region record. The Falcons hold a one-half game advantage with a 3-0 mark while the Raiders are 2-0.


Indians Lose To North Jackson
East Limestone took on regional powerhouse North Jackson last Friday night in a game with playoff implications. The Indians played well, hanging close for the entire game, but eventually lost to the Chiefs by a score of 21-14.


Sparkman Gets Shut-out Win
It was Michael Kitchen’s night for the Sparkman when the Senators surprised the Buckhorn Bucks with a 22-0 win. Kitchen kicked a pair of field goals and two extra points in the win that gave the Senators their sixth win in as many starts.

Well fans, it looks like $200-plus million just doesn’t go as far as it used to. Despite shelling out more money than most of us wouldn’t make in 500 lifetimes, Yankee owner George Steinbrenner is once again going home early in October.
