Get Homecoming Win

When the Giles County Bobcats and the David Lipscomb Mustangs meet on the football field in Nashville it will be a battle of two unbeaten region foes. Friday’s winner will be front runner for the Region 5 3A championship.

The Bobcats improved to 4-0 against region foes and 7-0 overall last Friday when they defeated Page of Franklin 42-6.

The Mustangs defeated 42-27 to improve to 4-0 in the region and 6-1 overall. Their lone loss came to Goodpasture in the season opener by one touchdown.

Sam Edgmon was the top receiver in Friday’s Bobcat win over Page. He was on the receiving end of two scoring passes from Joseph Dunavant. The first was for 22 yards and the second for 8-yards. He finished with 122 yards receiving.

Josh Perez, the rushing leader, finished with 112 yards and a 63-yard kick off return for a touchdown.

Jon Stafford kicked a pair of 23-yard field goals and two extra points.

Antonio Potts scored on a 28-yard fumble return for the rest of Giles County’s points.
