Indians Lose To North Jackson

East Limestone took on regional powerhouse North Jackson last Friday night in a game with playoff implications. The Indians played well, hanging close for the entire game, but eventually lost to the Chiefs by a score of 21-14.

East Limestone trailed by only a touchdown midway through the final period and appeared to be on its way to a tying touchdown with just under three minutes left on the clock. The Indians, led by standout quarterback Chad Dewitt, drove the ball down to the North Jackson 12 yard-line before the drive stalled. On a last-ditch fourth down play, Dewitt’s pass fell incomplete and the Chiefs took possession of the ball on downs.

All in all, it was a great effort by East Limestone but a tough regional loss for the Indians, who host Ardmore this Friday night.

North Jackson came into the game ranked No. 4 in the Class 4A rankings.
