It was Michael Kitchen’s night for the Sparkman when the Senators surprised the Buckhorn Bucks with a 22-0 win. Kitchen kicked a pair of field goals and two extra points in the win that gave the Senators their sixth win in as many starts.

Jusmon Rivers scored on a 59-yard run in the opening quarter. In the final stanza Lamonte Elston scored on a 29-yard carry. Sandwiched in between were Kitchen’s points and a Senator safety.

The Senators travel to Florence Friday for a date with the 3-3 Falcons who are 3-1 in region play. Sparkman had a 4-0 region worksheet.

Seth Hudson caught a 15-yard scoring pass from Howard Anderson in the third quarter as the Hazel Green Trojans dropped a 38-6 decision.

Turnovers proved costly for the Falcons as pass intercepted resulted into a Florence touchdown as did a fumble in the fourth quarter.

The Trojans are at home Friday hosting the Austin Black Bears
