Congratulations to Kenzi Vincent, Student Council Student of the Month. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders nominated for September’s Student of the Month were Kennedy Sutton, Logan Phifer, Madison Williams, Chase Nichols, Theresa Douthit, Anthony Warren, Roxi Edmondson, Jackie Hamelink, Allyson Dixon, Kelly Flannagan and Michael Stevenson.

The first PTO meeting was held on September 5. New officers are Laura Fox, president; Christy Duke, vice-president; Tammy Daniel, secretary; and Melody Putman, treasurer. They will do a great job. Let’s encourage them and the school’s faculty, staff, and students by coming to the meetings. Mrs. Tucker won $25 for having six parents to attend. The Harvest Festival has been scheduled for November 10.

On September 5, the SGE soccer team lost 7-4 to Highland Rim. Taylor Jenkins scored two of the goals. All four points were scored in the second half.

Progress reports were sent home on September 5. Parent Teacher Conferences were held on September 7 and 8.

The SGE football team lost 20-12 to Collinwood on September 7. On September 12, the SGE soccer team lost to Bridgeforth 7-1. Taylor Jenkins scored the only goal. The SGE football team lost 16-6 to Cornersville on September 12.

Grandparents Day was on September 12. We had over 100 grandparents to attend lunch and various activities.

The SGE soccer team beat E.O. Coffman 6-1 on September 13. Haley Woods, Harley Powers, and Taylor Jenkins scored one goal each. The SGE soccer team lost to Richland 2-1 on September 19. Taylor Jenkins scored the only goal.

A pep rally was held on September 21 prior to the football game. The first and fifth graders won the spirit sticks. The SGE beat Stone Bridge Academy 30-20 that evening. Quenton Braden scored one touchdown.

The SGE soccer team lost 6-0 to E.A. Cox on September 21. The soccer team lost 2-1 to E.O. Coffman on September 25. Haley Woods scored the only goal.

The fourth graders had Ag in the classroom on September 27.

On September 28, the SGE beat Unity 30-20. Bobby Melton scored one touchdown.

The Scholastic Book Fair ran from September 25-29.

The Student Council is having a winter clothing drive. Clothes will be picked up on Fridays. Also, they are raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Society. Please donate $1 for your pumpkin.

The Beta Club is collecting poptops from aluminum cans for the Ronald McDonald House. Thanks to Mrs. Laster for her generous donation.
