We are all blessed to live in a small town where most everyone is concerned about the welfare of their fellowman. We see this often in the actions of individuals who conduct benefits and special events to help those in need.

A prime example of this attitude of giving is The Harmony Boys, a local gospel music group. The first time one of the members volunteered to work at Christians Helping Others (CHO) Food Pantry and became personally aware of the many families with special needs in Ardmore and surrounding communities he began to plan a way to be more involved, particularly in providing financial help. The answer was immediately apparent. He and the other members of the Harmony Boys could use the great musical talent God had blessed them with to do a concert where a love offering could be taken for CHO. When he approached the other men, they were excited to be able to help the people of their communities. And the rest is history.

Over the last two years and four concerts at Piney Grove Baptist Church, the Harmony Boys have given CHO through love offerings taken a total of $6,600. The last concert on October 1, which we all deeply regret was their final concert, was attended by an overflow crowd which gave an unbelievable love offering of $3,249.50.

At the time of their first concert, CHO was having a very hard time with finances. Now due to the willingness of the Harmony Boys to use their time and talents to help others and the generosity they inspire in their fans, CHO is financially secure. It seems their actions sparked more enthusiasm and willingness in all of us.

CHO is at a loss as how to thank the Harmony Boys for all they have done. We deeply appreciate their selflessness and the inspiration they have been to all of us.

The 14 participating churches, volunteers, board of directors and officers all want to express their gratitude and say “Thank You”.

We are saddened that they have performed their final concert, but wish them individually God’s blessings as they pursue other endeavors in life.
