This is like Christmas in October. Two of Ardmore’s New Release books are Christmas stories. The first one, Finding Noel, is by Richard Paul Evans who also wrote The Christmas Box. It is about how people come into our lives for a reason. The second book is Debbie Macomber’s Christmas Letters. In this book, you will celebrate Christmas on Bloom Street with a brand-new romantic comedy about Katherine O’Connor and Dr. Wynn Jeffries. A week or two back was Banned Books Week. I find the list interesting since we have most on the shelves and that most are on the schools’ reading list. David Prather of the Huntsville Times says, “All of these books and stories have this in common: They make you think.” Library Schedule of Events: Monday Nights (5 p.m.)-- Chess Night in the Library’s Reading Room with Maalac Wednesday Mornings (10 a.m.)--Story Time for area children. October 18-Becky Smith with “Funniest Hats.” October 25-“Fall Party” and puppets with Matt and Lydia. During October the children who attend Storytime will receive a coupon from Movie Gallery for a free movie. Thursday, October 19, at 10 a.m. The Friends of the Ardmore Public Library will tour Polk’s Home in Columbia. October 18 (4:30 p.m.)-The Library’s Quarterly Board Meeting. |
