The Johnson Dixie Fury 8u took second place during the Fall Softball Tournament held October 7 at Cowart. The girls placed first seed after morning pool play. They continued to work their way through the single elimination tournament until they reached the championship game at 7:00 p.m. The girls played a great game, but just fell short to the Fayetteville team, according to Coach Jamie Moore.

Members of the Dixie Fury include Sara Benecke, Lydia Elrod, Stephanie Peek, Allenis Frisco, Alyssa Briggs, Shelby Self, Catlyn Carter, Shala Creswell, Kyleigh Griffin, Jacqueline McNeese and Whitney Moore. The team is coached by Bret Briggs, Butch Self and Jamie Moore.
