Burden promises to fight for the true conservative agenda when he is elected in November. ”I am a conservative who strongly believes in the U.S. Constitution and states rights“. Burden said. “I am opposed to abortion except where the life of the mother is threatened, rape or incest, I am for the second amendment, the right to own and bear arms. I am against homosexual marriages. I believe marriage is only between a man and a woman. I believe in a strong education system and paying our teachers a fair wage.”

Looking to the future, Burden sees how a conservative agenda can lead to continued growth and prosperity for the citizens of District #2. “We are taxed enough and we need to control spending“. Burden said, “Alabama has a strong economy. Madison and Limestone County must plan for the future. We have over 15000 new jobs coming to our area due to BRAC, Verizon and other small business expansion. We are not ready, we need to develop infrastructure, schools and hospitals, to prepare our area for these new people. I will do everything possible to prepare us for this growth.”

Burden attends Lindsey Lane Baptist Church. He has been married for 43 years to his wife Jo, and together they have two children, twins age 42.
