I am sending $13.50 (because I am 83 years old) to pay or renew my subscription for the SHOPPER.

I am from Charity Lane going toward Hazel Green, AL. I love all the news from Ardmore and all that community. My father was Edgar Thrasher and I am Clara Thrasher, one of his twins. My twin brother was Clarence Thrasher, now deceased.

My parents sent me to Nashville, TN, after I graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1942 to go to Draughons Business College. While there I met my husband, Linden Lesly from Merced, CA. I fell in love and married him and left my beloved Alabama to live in West Sacramento, CA.

Now, I am a widow and live around my children here. I have made many trips to my parents on Charity Lane. They are both gone, but I visit my sister, Nell Bruder. She and I are the only ones left in the family of five. Ardmore and Jones Drug Store for ice cream cones are among my best memories.

Excuse me for getting carried away with my beautiful memories of my childhood around Ardmore and Hazel Green, AL.

Sincerely,

Clara Trasher Lesly
