Billy Joe Martin Billy Joe Martin, 62, of Oak Grove Road, Ardmore, AL, died Sunday, October 29, 2006, at Huntsville Hospital, Huntsville, AL. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 31, at 1 p.m. at Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, AL. Billy Joe Martin was born January 14, 1944 in Limestone County, AL, to William “Bill” and Nannie B. Mitchell Martin. He lived all of his life in the Ardmore area. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and was a truck driver for Pent Products. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dwight and Kenneth Martin. Survivors include his wife, Ann Clem Martin of Ardmore, AL; two sons, Jason Martin and Justin Martin of Ardmore, AL; one daughter, Dawn Wilson of Athens, AL; brothers, Howard Martin of Elkmont, AL, J.W. Martin of Montgomery, AL, Bobby Martin of Athens, AL, David Martin of Kentucky, Donnie Martin of Athens, AL, and Barry Martin of Kentucky; sisters, Ruby Brooks of Ardmore, TN, and Peggy Magnusson of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Jeremy Butler of Athens, Kelsi Martin of Ardmore, AL, Levin Martin of Ardmore, AL, Makarlee Martin of Ardmore, AL, Chelsea Wilson of Athens, AL, Madison Wilson of Athens, AL, and Madison Lewis of Ardmore, AL. Nephews served as pallbearers. Muriel Mitchell Brown Muriel Mitchell Brown, 85, of Cedar Falls, IA, died Monday, October 23, 2006, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo, IA. Funeral services were held Thursday, October 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel. Burial was in the Waterloo Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late Henry and Nina Lee Bryant Mitchell. She married Robert E. Brown on April 26, 1949, in Pulaski, TN. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Joseph, Jessie, Horace, Ford, and DeWitt Mitchell; and two sisters, her twin Pearl Reyer, and Rosie Mitchell. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Brown of Elk Run Heights, IA; two daughters, Shirley (Bob) Saland of waterloo, IA and Bev (Jim) Johannes of Elk Run Heights, IA; a son, Arnold (Betty) Brown of New Orleans, LA; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Balinza of Atlanta. Marie VanStone Janice Marie VanStone, 59, of Big Spring Hollow Road, Pulaski, TN, died Thursday, October 19, 2006, in Pulaski. Funeral services were held Sunday, October 22, at 2 p.m. at the Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Clonts officiating. Burial was in the Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore with Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home in charge. Janice was born December 6, 1946 in Knoxville, TN, to Jack Thomas and Lillie Pearl Simmons Holt. She lived in the Pulaski area for 14 years after having moved from the Madison County, AL area. She was of the Baptist faith and served as a foster mother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie P. Holt. Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey Dale VanStone of Pulaski, TN; her father, Jack T. Holt of Pulaski, TN; one son, Kenneth Wayne O’Guinn, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; foster son, Cleon Sage VanStone of Pulaski, TN; daughters, Cynthia M. McElroy of Huntsville, AL, Sonia G. Carter of Toney, AL; step-daughters, Crystal VanStone of Mesquite, TX, Angela VanStone of Brobridge, LA, and Dawn VanStone of Red Bay, AL; brothers, Everett O’dell Brumlow of Hazel Green, AL, Thomas Holt of Pulaski, TN, and Michael Ray Holt of Athens, AL; sisters, Dorothy M. Finney of Pulaski, TN, and Martha S. Pyron of Hazel Green, AL; grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Frost, Chase Everett Hall, Shiane Page O’Guinn, Savannah Faye McElroy; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Michael and Layla Frost; and several nieces and nephews. |
