Tennessee Council Meets

The Ardmore, Tennessee City Council met at the City Annex November 2, 2006 at 6:30 P.M. Mayor Bobby Hastings brought the meeting to order. Police Chief “Doc” Oliver opened with prayer. Present at the meeting were Mayor Hastings, Vice Mayor Ken Crosson, and Aldermen Raymond Crabtree, Garon Hargrove, Laurene Schrimsher, Tim McConnell and Janice Reece.

Minutes were read by Clerk Mary Prier with an amendment to change wording about the 12 Christmas ornaments costing $250.00 each instead of $200.00 each. Ken Crosson motioned, Laurene seconded, and all were in favor to amend the minutes and approve them.

Second on the agenda was the inter-local agreement with Giles County providing for a Magistrate. Raymond Crabtree motioned, Ken Crosson seconded, all approved. October expenditures were next on the agenda. Ken Crosson motioned, Garon Hargrove seconded, all were in favor that the expenditures were correct.

The donation to the Civitan Club of $250.00 which goes to the general fund to pay for the Toy Chest, building ramps, and other club projects was approved. Tim McConnell motioned and Ken Crosson seconded.

Ken Crosson reported that the Industrial Board would like to deed over property beside Clayton Homes to the city at no cost. It’s now used for storage and police training for the city. The question came up about the liability from years of people dumping in that area. No one knows just what has been dumped there and what to do with it. Raymond Crabtree motioned, Laurene seconded. All approved except Janice Reece.
