The Ardmore, Tennessee/Alabama City Council held a joint meeting at the Annex in Tennessee on November 2, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Ardmore, TN Mayor Bobby Hastings brought the meeting to order with Ardmore, AL Mayor Eugene Shannon. Roll call included Ardmore, AL Councilmen Mary Hobbs, Melody Duffey, and Billy Shannon, and Ardmore, TN Aldermen Ken Crosson, Tim McConnell, Laurene Schrimsher, Janice Reece, Raymond Crabtree and Garon Hargrove. Minutes were read from the last meeting and approved.

After hours of discussing the salary raises and salary caps for the Police Dept, Street Department and Library, the decision was made to give raises based on job performance with a recommendation from the supervisors that must have documentation to back up the recommendation.

Then it’s to be presented to the council for review to be voted on. (1) After an employee has reached the cap, additional reviewed percentage raises will be based on a yearly basis with recommendation and documentation. (2) Increases for personnel who have not reached their salary cap will be based on the supervisor’s recommendation through documentation. (3) Salary increases for the administrative staff will be established by the respective mayors every two years. (4) Salary caps will be reviewed every two years.

Tim McConnell motioned, Hobbs seconded. Motion was approved by Tim McConnell, Janice Reece, Laurene Schrimsher, Mary Hobbs, Billy Shannon, and Melody Duffey. Motion was opposed by Ken Crosson, Raymond Crabtree, Garon Hargrove.
