L & S Food Market Celebrates 43 Years by Dwight Turner L & S Food Market in Ardmore is celebrating its 43rd Anniversary this month. The food market, located on Ardmore Avenue in Ardmore, AL, has long been a pillar of the local business community. L & S was opened in its present location on South Ardmore Avenue by brothers Kenny Smith, the late Bill Smith and the late Bob Smith. The store continues to operate at the same location, but has been enlarged and remodeled several times. Starting with 7,500 square feet, the store now boasts 16,500 square feet of floor space. To celebrate the store’s anniversary, customers are invited to take advantage of a “buy one get one free” sale. Storeowner Kenny Smith said the store will give away five baskets of groceries each day, today through Friday and 10 baskets on Saturday. In order to be included in the drawing you need to go by the store and register each day. Famous for its weekly jackpot drawings, L & S has given away an estimated $223,400 over the years. Now is the time to register for the jackpot drawings for the next year. Customers will receive a jackpot card and they can have it punched each week to be eligible for the weekly jackpot. “We are grateful for the loyal patronage of our customers over the last 43 years, and we look forward to providing excellent service to them in the future,” said Smith. |
