Falcons Lead Early, Hang On For Win

The Lincoln County Falcons advanced to the second round of the state play offs with a 24-22 win over the visiting Lebanon Blue Devils last Friday. Enjoying a 24-0 lead the Falcons had to hang on for the win as the Blue Devils scored three touchdowns in a 5-minute span late in the fourth quarter. With the win the Falcons travel to Murfreesboro Friday for a date with the Riverdale Warriors.

The Falcons were without the services of Jeremy Ramsey, who was in street clothes on the sidelines, with a bruised knee.

Scoring for the winners were Chris Shelton, Matt Moran and Ben Burcham.

Blake Dorris made a big stop for the Falcons on a two-points run try by the Blue Devils stopping the run one foot shy of the goal line.

The Falcons are the only team in Region 3 5A to advance to the second round.
